About Me

Hello! I'm Jason, a game developer specializing in gameplay programming, VR development, 3D asset creation, and level design. I graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Communications and have since dedicated myself to building engaging interactive experiences using Unity, C#, and Blender.

My passion for games began when I was young, playing on a Game Boy, and that curiosity has grown into a commitment to creating games of my own. I enjoy solving gameplay challenges, designing intuitive mechanics, building immersive environments, and bringing ideas from concept to a finished experience.

Over the past several years, I've developed a strong foundation in C# while creating personal projects that continue to challenge and expand my skills. My first solo indie title, Retro Ricochet, is a top-down roguelite built around trick-shot gameplay. Throughout its development, I designed the gameplay systems, created some 3D assets, built levels, implemented mechanics, and worked through the many technical challenges involved in shipping a complete game.

I'm always looking to improve my craft, learn new technologies, and take on more ambitious projects. My goal is to join a game studio where I can contribute to meaningful player experiences, collaborate with talented developers, and continue growing as a gameplay programmer and game developer.

Highlighted Project

Retro Ricochet

Retro Ricochet is my first solo indie game and the project that transformed me from someone learning game development into someone capable of taking a game from concept to release. Built in Unity using C#, the game challenged me to design and understand engaging gameplay systems, create some 3D models, build levels, and solve countless technical problems throughout development.

Every obstacle became an opportunity to learn—from programming gameplay mechanics and creating polished UI systems to modeling assets in Blender and overcoming platform-specific build issues. The experience taught me how to approach problems methodically, iterate on my designs, and continue improving until the game reached a finished state.

Music Page

Music has always been an important part of my game development process. For Retro Ricochet, I created a complete seven-track original soundtrack from scratch in Logic Pro. Every song was designed around the gameplay and visual theme of its level, helping each world feel memorable while capturing the retro-inspired style of the game.

‍ ‍Leon Lightyear began as a personal challenge to create an original electronic music album from start to finish. What started as an experiment quickly became one of my most rewarding creative projects, allowing me to develop my own sound through synthwave-inspired melodies, layered sound design, and cinematic production. The experience strengthened not only my music production skills but also my understanding of how music can tell a story without words.

‍ ‍"I Want to Give Up But I Won't" is an original electronic single created in collaboration with my brother, a fellow music artist. Produced in Logic Pro, the project combined our creative ideas to create an emotional, synthwave-inspired track that explores perseverance through difficult times. Collaborating on this song strengthened my ability to communicate creative ideas, refine musical arrangements, and blend multiple artistic perspectives into a cohesive final piece.
